AIDS Testing
It is suggested that ALL sexually active individuals (Gay or straight) be tested every 6-12 months.
IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY SEX - GET TESTED, its the healthy and honest thing to do....

It’s Tennessee state law that HIV tests be provided free of cost and confidentially to anyone
who asks and is over 12 years of age.

Suggestion:
A negative test result on Valentines day is a very NICE gift

Testing options:
Blood is best but spit works too (cheek swabs) - 99% accurate with a 2 test package

Testing Locations
Knoxville Health Department

Students can come to the Knoxville Health Department’s main location at 140 Dameron Avenue any weekday between 8am and 4pm and get a free test.  Their parents will not be notified, and no appointment is necessary.  They are not required to have an adult present, though some support figure like a friend or trusted adult is a good idea, of course.

...not exactly helpful for high school students, but there will be testing offered during next week, the National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS.  Please see the Knoxville News-Sentinel for more info (http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2011/feb/26/aids-focused-prayer-week-begins-march-6/).  The only testing that will be offered on a weekend will be Saturday, March 12, when Remote Area Medical will visit Pigeon Forge High School starting at 9am.  If you need more information, please call Judy at 215-5545.
