Students can come to the Knoxville Health Department’s main location at 140 Dameron Avenue any weekday between 8am and 4pm and get a free test. Their parents will not be notified, and no appointment is necessary. They are not required to have an adult present, though some support figure like a friend or trusted adult is a good idea, of course.
...not exactly helpful for high school students, but there will be testing offered during next week, the National Week of Prayer for the Healing of AIDS. The only testing that will be offered on a weekend will be Saturday, March 12, when Remote Area Medical will visit Pigeon Forge High School starting at 9am. 710 N Cherry St. in Knoxville. The clinic is easy to find from the interstate. They have an ”After Hours” teen clinic every Thursday, from 4:30-6:30 pm. They offer free STI and HIV testing and have teen peer educators to answer questions.
